We sew the inner and outer covers ourselves. The kapok filling is then hand-stuffed by a family-run business in Baden-Württemberg that specialises in working with natural fibres. The kapok fibre itself still comes from a supplier in southern Germany.
- Kapok is a fine, silky natural fibre that only ever grows wild – across Central and South America and Asia. Since it isn't cultivated on plantations, no fertilisers or pesticides are used
- The round shape offers more height than a rectangular bolster, making it especially good at supporting the body in rounded positions – for example under the knees when lying down, in reclined bound angle pose (Supta Baddha Konasana), or sitting on the heels if knee mobility is limited
- B.K.S. Iyengar himself developed props such as the bolster to make yoga accessible to every body – a tradition that lives on today in Iyengar, Yin and regenerative yoga
