A yoga bolster provides support in long-held poses, opens the chest and hips, and makes more demanding asanas accessible – especially in yin yoga and restorative yoga, but also as a comfortable seat for meditation.
Our regular yoga bolster with zip and handle is our classic model. Because it's made round, the flat resting surface only develops over time through regular use – if you'd like it flattened from the start, you can also stamp it flat with your feet.
Our oval yoga bolster with handle already comes with that flattened surface built in, so it's ready to use straight away – ideal if you mainly practise at home and don't want to wait for it to settle in. The more elaborate construction makes this model somewhat more expensive than the regular bolster.
If you'd prefer a more affordable option, we also offer a yoga bolster with a drawstring instead of a zip.
For breathing practice, our pranayama cushion is the ideal choice: narrow and elongated, it opens the chest and makes deep, free breathing easier.
We sew the cover and inner liner ourselves from cotton. The cover is machine-washable at 40°C and available in a range of colours.
The filling is kapok, added by hand in Germany – a light, resilient natural fibre that grows in the seed pods of the kapok tree, sourced mainly from Asia. Kapok trees aren't grown on plantations, and the fibre has a natural resistance to insects, so no spraying is needed. This sets kapok apart from cotton, which typically requires large amounts of water and is often treated with pesticides. Our kapok is also certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
Compared to spelt husks, kapok stays noticeably lighter and doesn't rustle as you move; compared to a cotton filling, it holds its shape for longer and doesn't flatten as quickly. At the same time, kapok remains springy enough to adapt comfortably to your practice without losing its support.
